Color+City

Color+City is a project created by me and Victor Garcia, to match graffiti artists with people who have walls in need of brightening up in São Paulo. In this project we worked with the venture-capital/accelerator arm of Brazillian agency FLAG, São Paulo, which presented the project to potential partners. Google Brazil quickly got involved, using Google Maps to collect the locations of available artistic canvases across the city; 5000 walls were donated in 200 cities around the world. Color+City sprouts in São Paulo, recognized as one of the biggest and greyest cities in the world. Abound free space and willful artists to color the city: the only challenge is to gather who want to paint and who has the walls to donate. We developed the platform to connect them. People register their walls and other spaces of their properties and anyone else (street artists, designers, kids and whoever willing to bring color to the urban space) can demand that space and color it. São Paulo was just the starting point, Color+City is already making it globally, in +20 countries like the USA, Canada, Colombia, England, Portugal, Germany, among others.
“The Biggest PR Coverage for Google since its official launch in Brazil, millions of brazilian reals in return.”
